We have used Global Surveys for many years, the reason quite simply is that they provide a very competitive and fast service which my clients appreciate and as an architect we have never questioned the quality or accuracy of the survey information.

As a firm of Chartered Surveyors undertaking a significant amount of planning work as well as general property advice Sworders have a wide ranging need for land and property measurement services.  We regularly use Global Surveys to provide us with quick and accurate data on projects including topographic surveys on greenfield development sites, marking out boundaries for land sales and detailed measured surveys of often historically important listed buildings to provide us with the data to draw up conversion schemes.  We find both their turnaround time and pricing very competitive and they are always willing to try and meet our timescales, wherever the project is in the country.  We can certainly recommend them.

Clare Hutchinson, Sworders

Since our formation in 1978 we have achieved recognition by numerous Government and Local Authority departments as well as the private sector. The company is currently pursuing chartered status from the RICS and is a long standing member of The Survey Association. Our methods are regularly updated in line with ever-changing technological advances; the latest electronic equipment and computer techniques being adopted throughout.

90% of work is undertaken on a fixed price quotation basis. Quotations are normally returned within 24 hours of receipt. Commencement dates obviously vary but average approximately one week from receipt of order. Client queries and work variations are dealt with quickly and efficiently without fuss. An internal Quality Control System is adopted and is in the process of being documented. Any type of project in any part of the world is considered. No task or locality is avoided, in fact we tend to specialise in works of difficult nature in remote or unsavoury localities.

Works completed to date range from £100 – £250,000. All work is checked prior to dispatch, major surveys are field checked.

Please note that we have a comprehensive list of completed projects, with contact names for reference purposes if required.

Featured Case Study – South Kyme Golf Club

Our Survey Manager Malcolm Wheatman was on secondment to MayGurney Ltd and tasked with the survey and design of flood prevention works on 52 sites in Lincolnshire. A section requiring urgent repair was identified alongside three of the fairways of the South Kyme Golf Club. This repair required the import of 150,000cu.m of blue clay. This created a logistical nightmare. The nearest available source was 20 miles away and the roads into the only entrance were narrow. In addition limited space at the entrance required the closure of the only car park and 1st tee for the duration of the works.

Malcolm proposed an alternative option. After consultation with the club he designed a lake to be built on the course adjacent to the river. He created a 3D model of the affected area and hosted a presentation including a digital fly-through of the existing course, showing the proposed changes, which won over many concerned club members allowing the plan to be approved.

After organising planning permission he supervised the pond construction. All the required clay was extracted in line with his design and at a significant cost saving. There was not a single day of golf lost in the duration of the works and the resultant feature lake created with additional wetland habitat is now the ‘signature’ hole of the course.
